Loose Hands ... Faster Running!!!

I've been practicing with the Tufts Marathon Team for about three weeks, and I've noticed visible improvements for my 200, 400, and 800m runs. During our last practice run, I asked Coach Don for help on proper running forms, and he told me that the most important thing, when it came to running, is to 'loosen up' and relax my hands while running. At first, I was a bit skeptical, because I believed that by tightening my muscles, I would encourage myself to run faster than if I were relaxed.

A former Tufts swimmer exceeds personal expectations ... READ MORE!

Coach, I finished in 3:12:58, far beyond my expectations! The only race I had run in 20 plus years was a 10K (the previous Sept) and I had not ever run longer than 10 miles when I signed up for this endeavor about 9 weeks in advance. It still seems like one of the craziest things I've ever done.

Welcome to the 7th Annual President's Marathon Challenge!

The Boston Marathon is rich with unique traditions that help make it an extremely popular and prestigious event. As a member of the 7th Annual PMC team you will join a rare breed of individuals willing to endure all the emotional highs and lows that are required of a marathoner. This common bond ties our runners together in a very special way.

"Part of the reason I chose to run with Tufts is that I know the money I raise is being put to good use - I know the people, I know the organization, and it is all top-notch."

- Jeff Candura, Associate Director, Tufts Fund
